Map of Negril Jamaica
Below is a map of Negril Jamaica. This map should not be used for directions but as a source of reference for locating hotels and places of interest around Negril. Negril runs from Bloody Bay to The West end cliffs. If you are visiting Negril, you'll most likely be coming from Montego Bay.
Just before you enter the town of Negril, you'll be travelling West. The road gently changes direction as you enter the town at Bloody Bay and you'll start travelling south for the first time. Driving along the main road (Norman Manley Boulevard) there is really nothing much to see until you start travelling along the famous seven-mile beach. There is not a lot happening on the left side of the road since most of the hotels and restaurants are located on the beach side (right) of the road.
The hotels closer to the town center are the older ones and those on the North of the Seven-mile beach are more modern. With the exception of Hedonism II (formerly Negril Village Hotel), all of the hotels North of Negril Tree House were built in the 1990s. Both Riu hotels were built after the year 2000.
As you can see from the map, Negril has a small airstrip. This is used mainly for inter-island commute using small turbo prop planes. There is a small round-about that sits in the town center. Hang a left here and you'll start heading East along the south coast of Jamaica. Go around and to the right, and the road will take you to the cliffs of the West-end and the town main shopping centers.
If you plan on travelling to the cliffs on the West End, be prepared to travel on rugged, narrow, and unpaved road, for the most part. But the trip is worth it for some of the best sunset anywhere in Jamaica. It is to the right of the round-about that you'll find most of the shopping centres and the major supermarket. All in all, Negril is pretty much the seven mile strip and the cliffs on the West End and nothing more. But in this small swat of land, you'll experience one of the most laid back and casual vacations anywhere in the world.
