
Hedonism II: Be Wicked and Wild
When I honeymooned at Hedonism II in 1986, I didn't know that it was going to be seven of the most memorable days of my life. Even though I grew up in Jamaica, I knew I was experiencing something unique and special. What I didn't know, was that no other resort in Jamaica could replicate that experience.
Yes, I have been to both Grand Lidos, Couples and some Sandals 
resorts - all more luxurious resorts, but different. Hedonism III?
racier, but not the same. The combination of location, layout,
activities, and own unique pulse, make the experience at Hedonism
II one that cannot be duplicated.
Obviously, this sentiment is shared by many others since Hedonism II has a guest return rate of 85%, one of the highest in the Caribbean.
The Settings at Hedonism II
Located on the famous seven miles stretch of beach in Negril, Hedonism II blends in very well with nature. The open lobby leads into the open-air main dining and entertainment area which makes you feel like you are dining outside.
The rooms are all located in two-storey buildings, which are nestled among the lush tropical foliage. Walkways from the main areas to the rooms meander through beautiful gardens which are softly lit with back lighting at night. It is very romantic at night.
The layout of the resort is natural and spacious, so you won't feel like it is crowded even when full to capacity. This is because Hedonism II was one of the first resorts built in Negril and the developers had all the land they needed to spread things out. In fact when I first visited Hedonism II in 1986, I went horseback riding through the woods and along the beach where Grand Lido Negril is now located.
Down on the beach, hammocks are hung among the trees so you can relax in the shade but still allow you to feel the caress of the warm tropical breeze. There is a beach bar, situated right between the nude beach and the prude and a grill each on both sides. Other hammocks and chairs are secluded throughout the grounds so you can relax outside from the hub and hum of the main areas and activities.
Facilities and Services
Hedonism II has many services to satisfy your needs and makes you comfortable and relaxed. To relieve your tension and stress, the resort provides a wide range of personalized spa treatments that can be customized to meet your needs. These include massages, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Seaweed wraps, Facials, Nail technology, Manicures and Pedicures. If you want to stay fit on your vacation the resort is equipped with Nautilus-type, Lifecycle and Lifestep equipment as well as free weights. Aerobics and reggae dance classes are also offered.
Being away does not have to mean being out of touch. Hedonism Negril has the hookup you need. There is an internet booth in the lobby and direct dial telephones are in every room. If you love shopping, Hedonism II offers a boutique, pharmacy, and duty free shop for your convenience. Ground transportation to and from Montego Bay airport are included in your rates.
Foods
At Hedonism II, good food are plentiful and drinks and premium brand cocktails flow all day and night from five bars. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served buffet style in the open-air main dining room. They are long and lavish with many Jamaican and Caribbean delights as well as your favorite foods in case you are afraid to try anything new. The two beach grills are always sizzling with hamburgers, seafood, and other local and traditional treats.
For dinner, you have two other dining choices. There is Pastafari, a unique Italian restaurant with a Jamaican flare and accent. Scotch Bonnet, named after the hot local pepper, is a Jamaican restaurant where you have a wide sensation of Jamaican delights. Reserve your table ahead of time.
Entertainment
Hedonism II is known for its fun and wild parties. In fact there is a party every night. Look at these theme party nights to begin with. Monday - Reggae night, Tuesday - Pajama Party, Wednesday - Cabaret & Casino, Thursday - Toga Party and talent show, Friday - Beach party with live band and games, Saturday - International Cararet, Sunday - Oldies dance contest.And this is just the beginning. At any time day or night, there is something exciting going on.
Each night except Friday a live band jams from 8:30 till midnight in the main dining/entertainment area. The disco is open from 11 pm until 5:00 am or until the last person leaves. There are five bars including the Beach Bar, a Pool swim-up Bar and Veronica's Piano Bar for a relaxed atmosphere.
And if you have ever dreamed of being in the circus you are in luck. There is a circus workshop that features flying and swinging trapeze, trampoline clinics, juggling, tightrope walking, unicycle, and bicycle balancing acts.
Activities
Hedonism II is a active adult resort. This means that there is a exciting array of land and water sports to keep you sweating or wet all day. If you want to improve your tennis or squash game, there are clinics available to help you out. Of course, all sports at Hedonism II comes with instructors to help you make the most of each activities. So go ahead, learn a new sport or sharpen up your beloved ones.
Land sports at this Superclubs resort includes tennis with six lighted courts and squash with two air-conditioned courts. There is a Rock Climbing Wall and a miniature golf course as well as badminton, basketball, volleyball, shuffleboard, table tennis, and cycling.
Of course this is an Island resort so naturally water sports abound. Again there are instructors available to help you learn and get the most of each activity. These include Scuba diving, water-skiing, hobie cat, windsurfing school, sunfish sailing, sailing, snorkeling, jacuzzis, glass-bottom boats, kayaks, two large freshwater pools one prude, the other au natural.
Just because you are at Hedonism II means that you have to be active and participate in the land and water sports. In fact there are many people who enjoy a relaxing Jamaica Vacation at this fabulous resort. The blending of the resort with nature naturally lends itself to relaxation.
But to ensure you can have the rest and relaxation you want, Hedonism II added amenities to facilitate this. There are secluded hammocks for two hidden about the grounds; there is a walk-in aviary filled with native Jamaican birds; There are game rooms, a reading room and even an island for picnics. So whether you want an active or relaxing vacation, or both for that matter, you can have it at Hedonism II.
Rooms
The 280 air-conditioned double rooms at Hedonism II are group into
four categories by the view and whether they are on the nude beach or
the Au naturel. They are Gardenview, Gardenview Au Natural, Oceanview,
and Oceanview Au Natural.
All rooms are tiled and equipped with CD player, mirrored ceilings above the bed, and private shower and bath. Did you notice there is no mention of a TV? That's because there is none. Hop off the world for a few days. You won't miss it at Hedonism 2.
Rooms have either two twin beds or one king-size bed and are sold on a "shared" basis. This mean if you are traveling alone, you can share a room with a person from the same sex or pay the full price of the room.
